Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a digging supervisor to lead digging teams on the United Utilities contract, delivering a first-time reinstatement focus and cost-effective on-site performance. You will work with the scheduling team to ensure programmes are managed and completed to the client’s satisfaction.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong health and safety knowledge, and a full UK driving licence. Network Plus welcomes applicants from ex-armed forces and other transferable backgrounds,

Qualifications

• NRWSA supervisory level required.
• Good health and safety knowledge essential.
• IOSH certification is beneficial.
• Strong focus on right-first-time delivery.
• Excellent communication with team and clients.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Shear Water EUSR Blue Card (if held).
• Experience avoiding underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Operational responsibility for digging teams and in-day activities.
• Organise labour cost-effectively, including recruitment, wages and absence management.
• Manage resources such as materials and plant.
• Conduct monthly team briefings.
• Coach staff to reach potential and maintain fair culture.
• Help manage frame and cover programme and meet KPIs.
• Support defect programme and attend Highway Meetings.
• Use GARD to monitor quality and drive correct behaviours.
• Liaise with Support Services and Street works Team on liabilities.
• Complete team inspections with focus on quality and first-time reinstatement.
• Act as Health & Safety Representative and conduct safety inspections.
