Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams on wastewater treatment projects, from brief to construction. You will mentor staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients and consultants to deliver high-quality, safe designs.

You will oversee design programmes, ensure compliance with safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement through CPD and best practice sharing. This client-facing role offers diverse project exposure across the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Experience with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work regulations and PSDP coordination is desirable.
• Proven ability to manage multiple design disciplines and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team and appointed consultants across all design scope.
• Develop and monitor a design budget and cost build-up for projects.
• Represent the company at design reviews and HAZOPs and close actions on time.
• Coordinate PSDP for the design phase and communicate residual risks to the PSCS.
• Ensure design programmes are developed at project start and updated regularly.
• Mentor and develop staff with development plans and resource management involvement.
