Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, delivering water and wastewater projects from brief to construction. You will liaise directly with clients, manage design budgets, and ensure safety, quality, and sustainability across all stages.

With 5+ years in a similar role and a Level 8 engineering degree, you will guide engineers and consultants, drive innovation, and advance career development within a one-team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Holder of a PSDP coordination certificate or Designing Safely for Construction is preferable.
• Experience in civil and process engineering works incl. temporary works, bulk earthworks, tank systems, building works, process units and M&E Installations.
• Full Driving Licence and ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team and any appointed consultants across all design scope.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards are embedded in designs.
• Coordinate with clients, client representatives and third-party agencies.
• Develop a design budget and monitor expenditure against it.
• Represent the company at design reviews and workshops; close actions promptly.
• Mentor staff and support recruitment within the team.
• Keep abreast of standards and CPD opportunities to improve delivery.
