Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Design Manager to join its multi-disciplinary engineering team in the UK to deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design to construction. You will lead a team of engineers and consultants, guiding projects from concept through to implementation and ensuring collaboration across disciplines.

This client-facing role involves liaising with the client, managing design scope, budgets, and schedules, applying HSE standards, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar design/engineering management role.
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental Engineering (Level 8).
• Experience in water/wastewater projects and PSDP coordination.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team and consultants across projects.
• Develop and monitor design budgets and cost build-up.
• Coordinate PSDP for design phase and ensure risk assessment.
• Represent the company at design reviews and workshops.
• Maintain HSE standards in proposed designs.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to develop engineered solutions.
• Mentor staff and develop the team through training.
