Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead a team delivering mechanical designs for wastewater projects in the UK and Ireland. The role involves coordinating the design outputs across water and process treatment plants under a Design Manager, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The candidate should have strong communication, leadership, and design delivery skills, plus a willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland as workload requires.

Qualifications

• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Water and wastewater design experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
• Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Design Manager.
• Produce design deliverables for water, wastewater and process treatment plants.
• Assist in mechanical design from site surveys to detailed design and tender pricing.
• Prepare procurement specifications and hydraulic calculations.
• Project manage third party designs and coordinate with installation teams.
• Support design delivery to ensure targets and MIDP are kept up to date.
