Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design across water and wastewater projects in the UK and Ireland. You will mentor junior engineers, deliver detailed designs, and interface with Civil, Structural, EICA and Process teams to ensure coordinated outputs and compliant, constructible packages.

You will develop GA drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules and hydraulic calculations, while promoting digital design tools and off-site manufacturing approaches to enhance

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering.
• Membership in IMechE or Engineers Ireland is preferred; Chartered status is advantageous.
• 7–10 years of mechanical design experience in water, wastewater or process environments.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design outputs from concept to construction-ready packages.
• Develop and review designs, calculations and specifications for pumps, pipework, tanks and HVAC.
• Produce GA drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules and procurement specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate interfaces with Civil, Structural, EICA and Process teams.
• Support BIM with Plant 3D/Revit models and ensure H&S, CDM compliance.
