Job summary

Mick George Group is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager in Huntingdon to drive growth in our waste brokerage business. You will identify new commercial opportunities, manage key customer relationships, and source competitive waste management solutions through our network of contractors.

The role requires strong negotiation, industry knowledge, and the ability to oversee the end-to-end sales process from lead generation to procurement and account management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in waste management, waste brokerage, recycling, haulage or environmental services.
• Demonstrable experience in business development and B2B sales.
• Experience procuring services from third-party waste contractors or facilities.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of waste streams, treatment routes and disposal/recycling options.
• Ability to assess supplier quotations and calculate margins.
• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple customers, suppliers and projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across commercial, industrial and other relevant waste streams.
• Generate leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, tenders and targeted business development.
• Build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Understand customers' waste requirements and develop commercially viable solutions.
• Prepare and present quotations, proposals and tenders.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and service arrangements with customers.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue and margin targets.
• Identify opportunities to increase customer spend through additional waste streams, services and locations.
