Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Waste and Recycling Development Officer to join our team. Based at Hickman Avenue Waste Depot, you will collate, monitor and analyse waste data and service contracts, communicating with stakeholders to improve provision and recycling rates.

You will travel between sites, support paid-for waste services, engage with customers and suppliers, and contribute to service improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Office experience and strong Excel knowledge.
• Ability to analyse data and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development.
• Adaptability to digital ways of working including AI.

Responsibilities

• Collate, monitor and analyse waste data and service contracts.
• Verify and communicate information with stakeholders to improve provisions.
• Drive high recycling rates and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Contribute to service improvement projects and activities supporting Council Plans.
• Support paid-for waste services; engage with customers and suppliers in person, by phone and in writing.
• Travel between and work from multiple waste sites across Wolverhampton; assist with administration and educational activities.
