Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Ward Housekeeper position within our Department for Older People Wards at Northwick Park Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor all equipment in the department against agreed standards and policy, including specialist equipment and isolation nursing areas.
  • Document all checks undertaken, areas of concern and actions taken.
  • Ensure the ward has sufficient stock to meet patient and staff needs, order stock, report shortages and maintain records.
  • Assist nursing staff in preparing bed spaces, beds and trolleys for new patient admissions.
  • Ensure ward consumables and other regularly stocked items are always available and within expiry date.
  • Maintain the day room and activities room clean, tidy and ready for patients.
  • Prepare the day room for patients’ communal lunch times.
  • Work closely with procurement services to maintain and resource stock and new items required to keep the ward safe.
  • Report regularly to the Ward Manager and Matron to provide updates and highlight areas for improvement.
