Job summary

Care in Mind is recruiting a Mental Health Waking Night Support Worker for Preston. You will work 8.30pm–7.30am, including weekends and some bank holidays, driving the service car unsupervised and supporting young people with mental health needs in our Preston home.

Training and supervision are provided, with opportunities for development within our residential services. Applicants must hold a full UK manual driving licence, be able to write basic reports, use an online care system, and

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work night shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence – not automatic.
• Ability to attend training during employment on weekdays.
• Good written skills and ability to write basic reports and record information accurately.
• Basic IT skills and use of online care systems and emails.
• Good verbal communication and ability to listen to others.
• Maintain professional working boundaries and stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with mental health needs during night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Update online care records and complete medication administration.
• Provide effective handovers to day staff and ensure home tidiness.
• Interact with residents to support wellbeing, education, and life skills.
