Job summary

Care In Mind is hiring a Mental Health Support Worker in Preston. The role requires working with young people in residential care, updating care records, administering medications, and promoting independence. You will help with education, daily tasks and life skills within a supportive team.

Salary £26,227.50–£27,378 per year, full-time (37.5 hours). Shifts include early, late and waking night rotations; some weekend/Bank Holiday work is required; training is provided; driving licence is

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK manual driving licence (not automatic).
• Attending training throughout employment on weekdays.
• Good written skills and ability to write basic reports and record information accurately.
• Basic IT skills including completing forms and using an online care system.
• Good verbal communication and active listening.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Maintaining professional boundaries between staff and service users.
• Ability to stay calm in emergencies and support others.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration.
• Support independence through education, household tasks and life skills.
• Contribute to a safe homely environment in the home.
• Assist with transport, budgeting, meal planning and appointments.
• Record information accurately and write clear notes for the team.
