Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Volkswagen Commercial Coventry. The hours of work are on a choice of shift between 07:00-16:00 and 09:00-18:00, with shift needs on a rota basis (one Saturday in four).

Our packages and new pay plans are industry‑leading and reflect each applicant's experience and skillset.

  • The basic salaries start from £32,000 up to £45,000
  • Bonus / OTE’s range from £35,000 up to £48,000

Role and Responsibilities
  • Servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop to the highest standard.
  • Electrical and mechanical repairs including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing.
  • Repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles using electronic diagnostic equipment (batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems).
  • Fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Implement customer satisfaction principles and understand their business impact.
  • Operate additional systems such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
  • Complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  • Work closely with other workshop team members to share knowledge and learn.
About You
  • Experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
  • Background from independent garages, fast fit centres, car supermarkets or main dealers.
  • Hold or be currently working towards NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • MOT Licence would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and the ability to deliver high‑standard work; training will be provided.
