Job summary
Waythrough is seeking an Ambassador & Volunteer Coordinator to lead recruitment, onboarding and development of volunteers across multiple Northumberland recovery services. You will work with service managers and partners to ensure volunteers feel valued and contribute meaningfully to the people we support.
The role covers Blyth, Ashington, Hexham and Berwick; a vehicle and willingness to travel are essential, with a rewarding career that supports recovery and community outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience coordinating, supporting or supervising volunteers, apprentices or staff.
- Experience working with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups.
- Understanding of addiction, recovery and lived experience.
- Strong record-keeping and administrative skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard volunteers and peer ambassadors across services.
- Provide supervision and guidance to volunteers.
- Develop new volunteering opportunities across the service.
- Deliver inductions and development programmes.
- Build relationships with community organisations and partners.
- Match volunteers to suitable opportunities and monitor outcomes.
- Promote volunteering value and lived experience within the service.
- Ensure safety and compliance of volunteer programmes.
