Job summary

Town and Country Housing is seeking a maintenance operative to carry out repairs and refurbishment on vacant properties. You will follow detailed specifications, use mobile devices to update work orders, and provide photographic evidence of outcomes.

As part of a safety-focused team, you will maintain high standards of health and safety, report safeguarding concerns, and ensure company vehicles and equipment are well cared for while delivering value for residents.

Qualifications

• Good all-round trade skills and safe working practices.
• Experience in social housing or similar maintenance environment.
• Full UK driving licence essential and able to use mobile devices to record work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, maintenance and refurbishment to vacant properties, following detailed specifications.
• Record and manage jobs with mobile technology and provide photographic evidence of completed works.
• Maintain health and safety standards and report safeguarding concerns.

What You Will Be Doing

You will carry out a range of repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works to vacant properties, working from detailed specifications to ensure each home is ready for re-letting. You'll use mobile technology to manage and record jobs, accurately complete work orders, and provide photographic evidence of completed works. As part of the role, you will maintain high standards of health and safety, identify and report safeguarding concerns, ensure company vehicles and equipment are well cared for, and contribute to delivering an efficient, value-for-money service that puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

What You Will Need

You will have good all-round trade skills, experience working within social housing or a similar maintenance environment, and a strong understanding of safe working practices. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with the ability to use mobile devices to receive and record work activities. We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and able to work independently while also being a great team player. Strong communication skills, excellent customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively will help you succeed in this role.
