Town and Country Housing is seeking a Repairs and Maintenance Operative to carry out routine and emergency repairs across our housing stock. You will use a PDA to receive and update work orders, record works completed, and provide photographic evidence when required.
The goal is to fix issues on the first visit wherever possible while keeping residents informed and safe. This hybrid role requires strong trades skills, a full UK driving licence, and comfort with mobile technology.
As a Repairs and Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a range of routine and emergency repairs, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll use a PDA to receive and update work orders, accurately record works completed, and provide photographic evidence where required. You will aim to resolve repairs on the first visit wherever possible, keep residents informed throughout the process, and work closely with colleagues to deliver an outstanding repairs service. You'll also be responsible for maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment and ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
You'll have strong all-round trade skills and experience working within social housing repairs or a similar maintenance environment. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with confidence using mobile technology to manage and record work. We're looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain high standards of quality. A proactive approach, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safe working practices will help you succeed in this role.

This is a hybrid role where we expect all staff to come into their base office 2 days a week (everyday during induction which could be up to 3 months).
