Job summary

A leading telecommunications company is seeking a Field Engineer to join their Network Engineering team in the London area. Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

What you’ll do

Field Engineer, within a Network Engineering team. Installing, commissioning, testing new services for multiple network types (IP/DWDM/VBSE specific) which provide service to Government Customers. Support may be required throughout the UK, but will be predominantly around the London and Home Counties.

  • Undertake equipment installation, commissioning, testing and decommissioning on Customer & Vodafone network sites, including fibre, co-ax and CAT5E/6/7 copper cabling, to current Secure Sector specifications.
  • Liaise directly with Project, Design, Build, Assure teams to ensure all aspects of equipment installation, commissioning and testing are fully supported.
  • Keep site information and documentation up-to-date, in line with Secure Sector requirements.
  • Provide a professional interface to Customers.
Who you are
  • Hands on knowledge of IP & DWDM cabling and power requirements in a Telecoms Provider environment.
  • Should be able to effectively use Telecoms test equipment that is relevant to support the roles duties.
  • Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods, setting own goals and priorities to complete the task at hand.
  • Flexible attitude with willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ in support of Customer requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Telecommunications related industry recognised professional qualification such as CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent) or the ability to demonstrate equivalent hands‑on knowledge.
  • Be able to maintain Customer confidentiality and ability to hold Developed Vetting (DV) level security clearance.
