Job summary

Vets for Pets in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our brand-new practice inside a store location. This full-time role offers a supportive environment and opportunities to grow with the team.

You will greet clients, process payments, and manage bookings using our online system, providing excellent client care and ensuring pets receive the best possible experience.

Experience in the veterinary field or customer service is preferred; training will be provided in-house.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in veterinary care or customer service is preferred.
• Friendly, welcoming client service with good communication.
• Comfort with using computer systems and payment processing.

Located inside one of our stores in the heart of Uxbridge, our brand-new surgery has been purpose-built to provide the highest clinical standards while offering a modern, welcoming workspace for our team.

What your typical day will look like:

• Provide exceptional service to clients while ensuring the highest standard of care for their pets, acting as a vital link between clients and the clinical team.
• Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients, their pets, and the practice team, fostering a positive experience at every visit.
• Deliver outstanding client service throughout each interaction, ensuring clients feel valued, informed, and confident in the care their pets receive.
• Greet clients warmly, provide support and guidance, process payments accurately, and efficiently manage future bookings.
• Coordinate the smooth operation of daily practice activities using the online booking system, demonstrating strong computer literacy and meticulous attention to detail.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am-7pm / Wednesday - one week on, one week off: 9am-7pm / Saturday - one week on, one week off: 9am-5pm with a salary in line with national minimum wage.

The attributes required:

• Previous experience in the veterinary industry or a customer care role is preferred.
• Act as the friendly and welcoming face for clients and their pets upon arrival at the practice.
• Provide clear guidance and support by maintaining a thorough knowledge of all practice services and additional offerings.
• Demonstrate a calm, attentive approach, consistently focusing on clients’ needs and providing reassurance when required.
• Bring enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service and pet care.
• Handle a variety of situations with professionalism and empathy—from comforting clients during difficult moments to sharing in the joy of a pet’s first visit.
• Contribute to a warm, supportive, and team-oriented environment, helping to create a positive experience for clients and colleagues alike.
