Job summary

Market Veterinary Centre in Barnstaple, South West is seeking a friendly Receptionist to join our two-site mixed practice on a full-time permanent basis. You will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting pets with care and professionalism while supporting booking, payments and client communications.

You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure a smooth client and patient journey, handle inquiries, register for Pet Health Club and maintain accurate records in a

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Market Vetson a full-time permanent basis.

We are a friendly, two-site mixed practice based in North Devon, just a short drive from Exmoor and the stunning North Devon beaches. Our practice boasts modern, well-equipped facilities and a diverse range of clinical interests among our team, including exotics and orthopaedics.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greeting clients and their pets with a friendly, compassionate, and helpful demeanor
• Efficiently managing the diary to maximize appointment slots, handle online bookings, and address emergencies while maintaining client records in compliance with GDPR
• Answering busy phone lines, emails, and other client communications
• Registering clients for the Pet Health Club
• Processing payments
