Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse in Macclesfield to join our emergency care team on a 12‑month fixed term contract from December 2026. We offer up to £17ph DOE plus benefits and a structured weekend schedule. The role involves triage, in‑clinic care, anaesthesia support, and in‑patient nursing.

You will work 1:4 weekends: Saturday 12:00–19:00 and Sunday 08:00–19:00, with paid bank holidays. RCVS registration is required, ECC experience is advantageous, and a strong commitment to

Qualificações

• RCVS registration with at least six months.
• ECC experience advantageous for weekend emergencies.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid - give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care - management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
