Vets Now in Stirling is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse to join our emergency team. This role focuses on triage, anesthesia, in-patient care and weekend coverage as outlined.

You will be RCVS registered and may gain ECC certificate and CPD; we offer private medical insurance, enhanced sick pay, generous leave, birthday day off, CPD allowance, pension, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.

Responsibilities

• First aid guidance over phone and in clinic.
• Critical care: monitor inpatient trends and pain assessment.
• Diagnostics: basic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Up to £17ph DOE plus benefits

Working hours:

Week 1: Off

Week 2: Saturday and Sunday from 19:00 to 09:00

Week 3: Off

Week 4: Friday from 18:00 to 08:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 19:00 to 09:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.

• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
