Job summary

Vets Now in Coventry is seeking a Weekend Days Veterinary Nurse to join our emergency-focused team. The role offers a weekend schedule with 1:4 weekends, Saturday 12:00-18:30 and Sunday 08:30-18:30, with bank holidays also included.

You will contribute to triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care, supported by ECC development opportunities and CPD funding. RCVS registration required for at least six months; salary up to £17 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First Aid - provide advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Critical Care - monitor major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Diagnostics - perform basic diagnostic procedures in solo capacity.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid - give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care - management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
