Job summary

Royal Mail in Oswestry is seeking a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician to join our busy Oswestry Workshop on a permanent contract. You will work on a variety of vehicles, undertake inspections, maintenance and repairs, using your own toolkit and company equipment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified to Level 3 (Light or Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent.
• Experience with a wide range of vehicles, including LCVs and HGVs.
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair on a range of vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Use your own toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repairs.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern, fully equipped workshops.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Oswestry Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £55k including overtime.

Working Hours

Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 18:00 Friday 10:00 - 17:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
