Royal Mail Group in Carmarthen is seeking a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician to join our Carmarthen Workshop on a permanent contract. The role offers a competitive salary with overtime and a rotating shift pattern.

You will work on a variety of vehicles, perform inspections, diagnostics and routine maintenance while using your own toolkit in a modern workshop. We require IMI Level 3 qualification (Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent), a broad range of vehicle experience, a valid UK driving

Qualifications

• Fully qualified mechanic with IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
• Own a personal toolkit for standard repairs.
• Experience working on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/HGV).
• Valid UK manual driving licence; HGV/trailer experience preferred.
• Flexible to service demands and shift rota.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs on light and heavy goods vehicles.
• Access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in a modern workshop.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Carmarthen Workshop on a permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time – 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Rotating shift pattern: week 1: 06:00‑14:00, week 2: 13:25‑21:30. Mandatory one‑in‑three Saturdays 06:00‑14:25 (weekday off mandatory).

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: Fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). Own a personal toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles (e.g., LCV / HGV).
• Valid UK driving licence: Full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: Take pride in your work and ensure jobs are completed effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: Able to work on a flexible shift rota and support the team where necessary.
