Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician for a Swadlincote retail centre. You will perform MOTs and light repair work, with training provided to obtain required qualifications in a fast-fit environment.

The role requires a valid MOT licence (or willingness to obtain), a passion for automotive tech, and interest in hybrid vehicles. Shift is Mon-Fri 08:30–17:30, with Saturdays on rota; 32 days holiday and extensive training are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence – essential.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Experience as an MOT tester (Licence can be obtained).
• Passion for the automotive industry and willingness to develop further.
• Willingness to learn about hybrid cars.

Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Carrying out light and full-service work.
• Performing fast-fit duties as required.
• Collaborating with the workshop to hit targets.
• Coordinating with Service/Parts and other centre departments.

Job description

Our client who is one of the UK’s fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Swadlincote.

As a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician would be responsible for completing MOTs on customers cars, as well as other light repair work. To be applicable for this role you must have a valid MOT licence, as well as experience working as a Vehicle Technician.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role. Our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location: Swadlincote

OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600

Shift and schedule: 08:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 – 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

To be a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence – Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester (Would also discuss putting through your Licence!)
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
