Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Vehicle Technician at their Matlock retail centre. You will review work on customers' vehicles, perform a wide range of fast fit mechanical tasks, and light/full-service work. No qualification required—training will be provided to achieve IMI and Hybrid qualifications.

Basic salary £31,000–£34,000 depending on experience, with uncapped OTE around £3,600. Shift is 08:30–17:30 Mon–Fri and 08:30–16:00 Sat on rota, plus 32 days holiday and extensive training.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence – Essential.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician (no formal qualifications required).
• Willingness to develop in Hybrid vehicle technologies.

Responsibilities

• Light and full-service work on customer vehicles.
• Fast-fit duties: replace/repair brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension parts.
• Operate wheel alignment machinery; read results and adjust accurately.
• Carrying out tyre diagnostics, fast-fit replacements and repairs across makes.
• Collaborate with workshop team to meet targets.

Our client who is one of the UK’s fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a Vehicle Technician based at their retail centre in Matlock.

As a Vehicle Technician you would be responsible for reviewing work on customers vehicles, completing wide range of fast fit mechanical work and light and full-service work.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role, our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location: Matlock

Pay / salary: Basic £31,000 - £34,000 Depending on your experience and qualification

OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600

Shift and schedule: 08:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday and Saturdays 08:30 – 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

• Operating precision wheel alignment machinery, interpreting readings, and completing accurate adjustments
• Carrying out precise tyre diagnostics, fast-fit replacements, and repairs across various vehicle makes
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Work as a team with the other Vehicle Technicians

To be a Vehicle Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence – Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
