Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is helping a fast-growing UK automotive retailer in Matlock recruit a Vehicle Technician. You will perform light and full-service work, plus fast-fit duties like brakes, exhausts and batteries.

Training is provided to qualify you for Level 3 IMI & Hybrid certifications, with strong career progression and staff incentives. The role offers a basic salary of £31,000–£34,000 depending on experience, with uncapped OTE around £6,000 and a Monday–Friday schedule with Saturday

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed) is acceptable.
• Ambition to develop in the automotive industry and learn about hybrids.
• Willingness to undertake Level 3 IMI & Hybrid qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform light and full-service work on customer vehicles.
• Carry out fast-fit duties such as brakes, exhausts and batteries.
• Use wheel alignment machinery and interpret readings.
• Carry out tyre diagnostics and fast-fit replacements across makes.
• Work with the workshop team to meet targets.

Job description

Our client who is one of the UK's fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a Vehicle Technician based at their retail centre in Matlock.

As aVehicle Technicianyou would be responsible for reviewing work on customers vehicles, completing wide range of fast fit mechanical work and light and full-service work.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role, our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location:Matlock
Pay / salary: Basic £31,000 - £34,000 Depending on your experience and qualification
OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600
Shift and schedule: 08:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday and Saturdays 08:30 - 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

Vehicle Technician Responsibilities:

• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties such as, Replacing and repairing brakes, exhausts, car batteries, suspension parts
• Operating precision wheel alignment machinery, interpreting readings, and completing accurate adjustments
• Carrying out precise tyre diagnostics, fast‑fit replacements, and repairs across various vehicle makes
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Work as a team with the other Vehicle Technicians

To be a Vehicle Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence - Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
