Job summary

Vertu Motors is recruiting a Service & Maintenance Technician for Vertu Honda Plymouth to service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles to manufacturer standards. A 41-hour week, basic salary up to £36,950 with over-performance bonus and a £4,000 bonus package is on offer.

You will join a professional workshop with extensive training, career development opportunities, and a supportive team environment. A full UK driving licence and a relevant automotive qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Automotive qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician preferred.
• MOT Licence desirable but not essential.
• Must have your own toolset.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Perform diagnostics and routine servicing.
• Aim for first-time fixes and high-quality workmanship.
• Work with a team in a modern workshop with ongoing training.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Service & Maintenance Technician to join our successful aftersales team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a globally recognised brand in a professional, supportive, and modern workshop environment where your skills will be recognised and rewarded.

We are offering a basic salary of up to £36,950, depending on experience and qualifications, based on a 41-hour working week, Monday to Friday, plus an additional over-performance bonus opportunity.

To welcome you to the business, we are also offering a fantastic £4,000 bonus package, including:

• £2,000 Sign-On Bonus paid in Month 1
• £2,000 Retention Bonus paid in Month 13

About the Role

As a Service & Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding customer motoring experience built on trust, quality and professionalism.

You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles to manufacturer standards, ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop safely and efficiently. From routine servicing and diagnostics to more complex repairs, you’ll take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and achieving first-time fixes.

Working alongside a talented team of technicians and supported by industry-leading training, you’ll have every opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career within one of the UK's largest automotive retailers.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A relevant Automotive qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician
• An MOT Licence (desirable but not essential)
• Your own set of tools
• A full UK driving licence
• A strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
