Job summary

Halfords in Hull is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, including complex tasks like clutch and timing belt work. You’ll perform diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension, with a view to career progression within Autocentres.

The role offers a base salary of £32,000–£34,000 plus an uncapped bonus scheme with potential earnings up to £41,100, plus generous leave and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Perform more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostics in areas such as electrics, brakes, steering and suspension systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
