Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic for our Autocentres in Sheffield. You will service and repair vehicles, diagnose faults, and perform tasks including clutches, timing belts and electrical work to a high standard.

The role offers a base salary of £31,500–£33,500 plus an uncapped monthly bonus, with on-target earnings up to £40,600 and a 5‑day week. Hybrid training and progression opportunities are available as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience diagnosing and performing repairs (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repairs (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work on vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics and more complex repairs (clutches, timing belts, electrics).
• Ensure high standards of safety and quality in all tasks.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
