Job summary

Halfords is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the United Kingdom. The role involves servicing and repair work, with more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts and diagnostics in areas like electrics and suspension.

A Level 3 in LV maintenance or equivalent is required, plus a full driving licence with <=9 points. The position offers a base salary of £32,500 with an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,700 per year, providing on-target earnings up to £39,200.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience carrying out diagnostic work and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles and carry out replacement work as required.
• Take on more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts, and engine diagnostics.
• Diagnose faults in brakes, steering/suspension, electrics and other systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
