Job summary

Halfords in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You will service and repair vehicles, handling tasks from routine servicing to clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.

You’ll join a team at Halfords with a base salary of £32,000–£34,000, plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,700 per year, and on-target earnings up to £40,700. A full UK driving licence with up to 9 points is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic ability

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work including brakes, steering and suspension
• Perform diagnostics and complex repairs such as clutch and timing belt
• Work on electrical systems and engine-related issues as required

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills And Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
