Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Fusion centre in Grantham. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics and tackle complex tasks including clutch and timing belt replacements.

Base salary £31,500–£33,000 with an uncapped bonus scheme and on-target earnings up to £40,100. Benefits include 5.6 weeks leave and substantial staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Or time served experience.
• Must have a full driver's licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repair.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair work on vehicles.
• Carry out diagnostics and more complex tasks (clutches and timing belt replacements).
• Work on braking, steering/suspension, engine systems as needed.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• OR time served experience

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
