Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic in Gosport to service and repair vehicles, including diagnostics across brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems. You’ll work at a Fusion centre with modern facilities and a strong focus on customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served
• Must hold a full driving license with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic abilities (brakes, steering/suspension, engine, electrical)

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work
• Perform diagnostics on vehicle systems including brakes, steering/suspension, engine and electrics
• Handle more complex repairs such as clutches, timing belts and electrical diagnostics

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
