Job summary

Halfords Garage Services is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic for our Fusion centre, upgraded with the latest facilities to deliver first-class customer service. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics and tackle complex repairs while pursuing career progression.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work including diagnostics (brakes, steering/suspension, engine).
• Carry out more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts, and diagnostics in electrics and brakes.
• Progress through training and access ATA & MOT Tester Qualifications.

Comprising a base salary of £35,000

An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,700 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
