Job summary

Halfords Garage Services is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Fusion centre. You will service and repair vehicles, carrying out tasks from routine servicing to more complex work such as clutch and timing belt replacements, and diagnostics.

We expect a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time‑served experience, plus a full UK driving licence (no more than 9 points). Join a team focused on first‑class customer experience and career progression.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience performing servicing, diagnostics, and complex repairs (clutches, timing belts, electrics).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics on brakes, steering/suspension, and engine.
• Handle complex replacements (coolant, injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

• On-target earnings up to £40,600
• Comprising a base salary of £34,000
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,600 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
