Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Edinburgh Autocentre. You will service, repair and diagnose vehicles, including clutches and timing belt replacements, across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

You should hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent time served experience, and possess a full UK driving licence (≤9 points). This role offers a competitive salary with an uncapped bonus scheme and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics and handle more complex tasks (clutches, timing belt, electrics).
• Work across brakes, steering, suspension and engine systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
