Job summary

Halfords in Dundee is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, including clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across electrics, brakes, brakes, steering and suspension. The role offers a base salary of £32,000 with an uncapped monthly bonus scheme and potential on-target earnings up to £38,700.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience diagnosing brakes, steering/suspension, engine, and other complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair work on vehicles.
• Carry out clutch and timing belt replacements and other advanced tasks.
• Perform diagnostics on electrics, brakes, steering and suspension systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
