Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in Manchester is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You will service and repair vehicles, carrying out tasks from routine maintenance to more complex work such as clutch and timing belt replacements, with diagnostics across brakes, steering and electrical systems.

You should hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or have time-served experience, plus a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic with diagnostics capability (brakes, steering/suspension, engine).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics across systems (brakes, steering/suspension, engine).
• Handle complex repairs (clutches, timing belt) when needed.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
