Grade G Scp 23 £34,434 to Scp 27 £38,220

Contract permanent

Location - Wellington Street Depot

Essential Requirements, Valid Current category ‘B’ driving licence, City and Guilds Level 3 Motor Vehicle Studies (Light and Heavy Goods Vehicles) or equivalent qualification (NVQ) Level 3 Light and/or Heavy Goods Vehicles.

The Role

Bolton Council is seeking Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to join our dedicated team responsible for maintaining the council’s fleet. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills will help keep essential services running smoothly.

About You

We’re looking for experienced and motivated technicians with a passion for delivering high‑quality work who enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in keeping the fleet mobile and operational.

Experience of working on a variety of vehicles with good diagnostic and problem‑solving skills is key, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician and proven experience of MOT preparation and knowledge of MOT testing standards (HGV/PCV vehicles).

You’ll be an effective member of the team who takes pride keeping the fleet mobile and operational. Good written and oral communication skills, as well as having a proactive approach to Health and Safety guidelines and regulations is essential.

You’ll be required to have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to cover different shift patterns over the working week (Monday to Friday).
