Job summary

IKEA Sheffield is seeking a Unit Facilities Manager to lead our facilities team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an excellent customer and co-worker experience.

The role requires steering the FM program across the store, ensuring safety, compliance, and sustainable operations while managing budgets and supplier relationships. Starting immediately, it offers a comprehensive benefits package and a chance to influence operations in a major retail environment.

Qualifications

• Curiosity about facilities management with knowledge to deliver and follow up on hard and soft FM services.
• Open to new solutions while promoting sustainability and how it impacts energy consumption, emissions, waste management and chemical products.
• Experience leading people, directing contracts and supplier relationships, and handling work orders for urgent, planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Experience in end-to-end project management and budget oversight within retail facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Facility Management aspects in-store to optimise value and efficiency sustainably.
• Implement Ingka Facility Management within the store through the Unit FM team.
• Responsible for each property to be managed throughout its lifetime, including safety, compliance, maintenance, and improvement.
• Ensure co-workers, service providers and external partners understand all FM frameworks, guidelines, and initiatives.
• Responsible for asset management, long-term planning, budget estimation, implementation, follow-up, forecasting and reporting within FM scope.
• Implement and evaluate supplier contracts at store level in line with governance to improve costs, equipment and quality.
• Provide leadership and develop skills within the department to secure succession planning.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Curiosity on all things Facilities Management, a general knowledge to effectively deliver, organize and follow up on 'Hard' and 'Soft' Facilities management services.
• You are open to new solutions while promoting sustainability and how it impacts aspects of facilities management, such as energy consumption, emissions, waste management and chemical products.
• You find motivation in leading people through shifting, multifaceted situations and take satisfaction in creating positive results by working closely with stakeholders. You should bring solid facilities management experience, including directing contract and supplier relationships and handling work order processes for urgent, planned, and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Established experience in people management skills, end-to-end project management skills, and a background in retail Facilities Management. The ability to effectively oversee budget and supplier relations is another key requirement.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Our In-Store Facilities Manager will manage all Facility Management (FM) aspects in the store to optimise the value and efficiency of the property sustainably.
• Manage the implementation of Ingka Facility Management (FM) within the store through the Unit FM team.
• Responsible for each property to be managed throughout its lifetime, including safety, compliance, maintenance, and improvement to ensure a safe and operational environment for the business, co-workers, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure that co-workers, service providers and external partners have up-to-date awareness and understanding of all Facility Management frameworks, guidelines, and initiatives.
• Responsible for all activities related to asset management, long-term planning, budget estimation, implementation, follow-up, forecasting and reporting within the Facility Management scope in the store.
• Implement and evaluate supplier contracts at the store level in alignment with internal governance structure for supplier contracts to improve efficiencies, costs, equipment, and quality.
• Provide effective leadership and support to your teams by inspiring and empowering every co-worker to recognise and understand their contribution, whilst identifying and developing the many skills within the department to secure succession planning.
