Our Team

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), known for its modern facilities; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), renowned for innovative technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis and race operations.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1 with us. Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany.

In internal combustion engine development, you will work on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain. Your goal is to optimize engine performance and efficiency, focusing on combustion processes, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. You will perform development activities during the concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  1. Development of combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations
  2. Thermodynamic development of the internal combustion engine's gas-exchange, combustion phase, and flow simulation of intake & exhaust systems
  3. Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with detailed reports
  4. Correlate measurement data from engine tests and testbenches
  5. Improve processes and workflows for simulation and test data analysis
Your Profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics (bachelor's, master's, Diplom, or Dr.-Ing.)
  • Several years of professional experience in internal combustion engine development, especially in 3D CFD simulation
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains
  • Experience with data handling from testbenches
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Independent and precise working practices
  • Proficiency in German or English; willingness to learn the other language is required
