Job Description:

Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), considered one of the most modern in Europe; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), known for its innovative technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil handles chassis development and race operations.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1 with us. Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

Your role involves working on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain within internal combustion engine development. Your tasks include developing the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine, focusing on combustion processes, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. You will perform development measures during the concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  1. Development of combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations
  2. Thermodynamic development of engine gas-exchange, combustion phase, and flow simulation of intake & exhaust systems
  3. Planning, performing, and evaluating 3D CFD simulations with proper reports
  4. Correlating simulation results with measurement data from engine tests and testbenches
  5. Improving workflows and toolchains for simulation and test data correlation
Your Profile
  1. Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics (bachelor's, master's, diploma, or doctorate)
  2. Several years of experience in internal combustion development, especially 3D CFD simulation
  3. Broad knowledge of engine technology and virtual development tool chains
  4. Experience handling testbench data
  5. Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and responsibility
  6. Independent and precise working style
  7. Proficiency in German or English, with willingness to learn the other language
