Job Description:

Our Team: Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations: the Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany), one of the most modern of its kind in Europe; the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), known for its innovative technologies; and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, operational this year. Our Power Unit is developed in Neuburg, while Hinwil focuses on chassis and race operations.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If giving up isn’t an option for you and limits are meant to be overcome, you can bring "Vorsprung durch Technik" to Formula 1 with us. Join this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is based at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In internal combustion engine development, you will work on the combustion process and calibration of a high-performance powertrain. Your task is to optimize engine performance and efficiency in combustion, turbocharging, and calibration, while ensuring reliability. You will be involved in development during the concept, design, commissioning, and testing phases.

Your Mission
  • Development of combustion process and gas-exchange via 3D-CFD simulations
  • Thermodynamic development of the engine's gas-exchange, combustion phase, and flow simulation of intake & exhaust systems
  • Plan, perform, and evaluate 3D CFD simulations with proper reporting
  • Correlate simulation results with measurement data from engine tests and testbenches
  • Develop processes and improve workflows and toolchains for simulation and test data correlation
Your Profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics (bachelor's, master's, diploma, or doctorate)
  • Several years of experience in internal combustion development, especially 3D CFD simulation
  • Broad engine technology knowledge with expertise in virtual development tool chains
  • Experience handling data from testbenches
  • Strong teamwork, organizational skills, and responsibility
  • Independent and precise working style
  • Proficiency in German or English, with willingness to learn the other language
