Job summary

Gist is seeking a Transport Coordinator in Milton Keynes to help keep the transport operation running smoothly day-to-day. You will be a key contact for around 25 drivers, briefing and debriefing them, monitoring routes and resolving live issues with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Join a fast-paced transport team, develop strong relationships, and support administration, payroll, and scheduling tasks while contributing to service and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Previous transport experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with drivers and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Brief and debrief drivers, acting as key contact.
• Build positive relationships with drivers and answer questions clearly.
• Monitor live routes and delivery progress, escalate delays.
• Respond to operational challenges with practical solutions while maintaining customer service.
• Support safe, compliant operation including licence requirements.
• Complete daily transport administration accurately and on time.
• Support driver schedules and working times using systems.
• Assist with payroll-related administration, holidays and queries.
• Maintain records and communicate across the operation.
• Collaborate with Transport Managers, drivers and teams for handovers.
• Support performance targets for service, cost and delivery.
• Prepare for busy periods and changing demand.
