Job summary

Industrious Recruitment in Milton Keynes is seeking a proactive Transport Coordinator to support a busy transport operation. You will work closely with Transport Shift Managers to coordinate deliveries, communicate with drivers, and ensure an efficient, high-quality service to customers.

The role involves preparing driver paperwork, briefing drivers, keeping drivers informed, updating KPIs, handling enquiries, and supporting improvements while ensuring Health & Safety and Driver Hours compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport, logistics or supply chain.
• Knowledge of Driver Hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Excellent customer service and ability to work under pressure.
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and allocate driver paperwork and route information.
• Conduct driver pre-briefs and de-briefs, escalating any issues where required.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout their routes, updating all relevant parties on any changes.
• Update daily transport KPIs and operational data.
• Handle telephone and email enquiries from drivers and customers professionally.
• Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates and resolve any service issues.
• Arrange assistance in the event of vehicle breakdowns, ensuring driver safety and minimal disruption.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport department.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, transport legislation, working time regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of tachograph legislation and Driver Hours regulations.

About the Role
