A major energy company is seeking a dynamic Transformation Manager to lead strategic transformation initiatives and foster innovation. The role focuses on service- and people-centric projects, requiring experience in organizational design, service design, or consultancy. Strong stakeholder engagement is essential for securing support for transformation efforts. The position is hybrid, based in either Wokingham or Warwick, with a salary range of £70,000-£85,000 depending on experience.
National Energy System Operator's (NESO) strength lies in our people, shaping a future where clean, affordable energy is accessible for all. Every day offers an opportunity to make a real difference, accelerating sustainable GB energy progress and keeping society thriving.
Are you passionate about driving transformative change and achieving tangible results? NESO seeks a dynamic Transformation Manager to drive strategic transformation initiatives and foster innovation across our organisation.
In this key role, you will develop and execute our transformation portfolio. Your focus will be on impactful, service- and people-focused projects, including target operation model and service design, rather than solely single large programmes.
We need someone who can operate effectively between strategy and delivery, bridging processes, people, and technology with a blend of strategic insight and hands‑on experience.
We seek candidates with extensive cross‑sector experience (not limited to energy) in shaping and delivering significant process and people transformations. Experience in Organisational Design (OD), Service Design or Operating Model projects is highly advantageous, as is a background in working with enabling functions, public sector transformation, or consultancy.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills are paramount; you'll collaborate with senior management to secure support for transformation by effectively engaging people, understanding business needs, and persuasively guiding change.
This role can be based in Wokingham or Warwick, offering hybrid working with an expectation to spend one day per week at your allocated office location, with support needed at specific times and places depending on programme requirements.
If you are a critical thinker who thrives in a problem-solving environment and is eager to make a substantial impact in this exciting energy industry, we invite you to apply and join us on our transformation journey.
Together, we can shape the future of NESO and drive meaningful change!
Research shows that some people may hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. At NESO, we believe potential comes in many forms and we’re committed to a fair, inclusive recruitment process where everyone can show their talents. We celebrate the difference people can bring into our organisation, and welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds to build a workforce that feels valued and respected and represents the communities we serve.
If this role sparks your interest but you’re not sure you tick every box, we still want to hear from you.
A competitive salary between £70,000- 85,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
As we work towards creating a cleaner, greener, and more affordable future for all, we also work towards creating a place for our teammates to belong, with professional and personal growth and positive well‑being.
National Energy System Operator (NESO) has a key role to play in tackling climate change by transitioning GB’s electricity system to net zero. We are also providing advice to the Government on achieving a decarbonised power system by 2030.
So, join the energy transformation and help shape the future.
Your energy, our future, together.
This role closes on 21st December at 23:59, however we encourage candidates to submit their application as early as possible and not wait until the published closing date as this can vary. The interviews are scheduled to take place in person on January 7th(Warwick) or 8th (London).
