Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola group, is recruiting a Trainee Site Manager for Scotland. The programme blends on-site learning with shadowing, coaching, and mentoring across Overhead Lines, Substations, Cable Networks, Civils, and Electrical Installations, with the goal of CIOB certification and Diploma in Site Management.

The role develops planning, safety leadership, and multi-disciplinary team coordination, offering a clear pathway to a permanent Site Manager position on successful

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in Energy, Construction or Utilities.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Prior Health and Safety knowledge.
• Valid UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Observe, participate, and lead planning and coordination of on-site contractor activities.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Oversee construction and commissioning stages of projects.
• Manage design change processes with engineering teams.
• Interface with operational colleagues such as protection engineers and Senior Authorized Person(s).
