Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of Iberdrola, is seeking a Construction Training Lead to develop the next generation of Site Managers across Scotland. The role blends construction expertise with people development to safely deliver major transmission projects.

Based in Scotland with regular site travel, you will own the Trainee Site Manager Development Programme, create development plans, coordinate mentors and work with project teams on substations, cables and overhead lines.

Qualifications

• Proven practical experience in site or construction management within safety-critical infrastructure.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or developing people in the workplace.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Trainee Site Manager Development Programme.
• Create and manage individual development plans with site placements, coaching and qualifications.
• Work with Construction Managers to provide learning experiences across transmission projects.
• Coordinate mentors, coaches and placement managers for regular feedback and development.
• Build relationships with professional bodies and learning providers to support qualifications.
• Monitor progress, record data and report on programme milestones and risks.
• Visit construction sites to observe trainees and gather feedback.
• Translate standards and procedures into engaging learning content.
• Coordinate onboarding and core training to address capability gaps.
