Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking a motivated Trainee Licensing Officer to join the Public Protection (Licensing) team in Oldham. The role offers a structured apprenticeship pathway to achieve Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer qualifications while gaining hands-on licensing experience.

You will assist with investigations, inspections, and compliance checks, delivering high-quality customer service to businesses and the public.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public in customer-facing roles is essential.
• Excellent written and spoken communication across diverse audiences.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Licensing Officers with compliance checks, inspections, investigations, and audits across licensing functions.
• Support the preparation of evidence, case files, and documentation relating to licensing and enforcement activity.
• Provide high-quality customer service by responding to enquiries and offering guidance to businesses and the public.
• Maintain accurate records and update Council systems and databases in line with data protection requirements.
• Successfully complete the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship and related licensing qualifications.
