Job summary

Focal Systems is expanding its UK operations and seeks a dedicated Field Service Technician to maintain customer installations across the region. The role involves on-site and travel to sites, mostly during store hours, with potential overnight work and weekend shifts. This 6‑month contract is 30 hours per week.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable using power tools, with a focus on safe, high‑quality installations and prompt issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Field technician experience in field service, installation, or related field.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and hardware/software repair skills.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to specifications.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication with supervisors, teammates and customers.
• Valid UK driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Onsite and offsite maintenance of camera hardware: diagnose issues, install, replace and configure according to standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance checks and address potential issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls and meet customer SLAs.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used and time spent.
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• Occasionally attend installations during night hours.
• Install Focal Systems product onto shelves, ceilings and other equipment per plans.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely installations and high quality.
• Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards and KPIs.
• Communicate progress and issues to supervisors during store visits.
